I am fetching CSS values from API response is it possible to load web component in browser once API call is made? i.e instead of adding below lines in constructor

  this.shadowRoot.appendChild(style);
      this.shadowRoot.appendChild(wrapper);

  this.shadowRoot.appendChild(style);
      this.shadowRoot.appendChild(wrapper);

can I append style and wrapper after API call is made? or is it mandatory to append in constructor only??
